a word from our founder

Hello and thank you so much for visiting our website!

My name is Ken, and I opened our studio back in 2005 after selling an online personal care company that I founded and ran for seven years (btw, the website is no longer active, but it was called Bath-and-Body.com).

As an avid photography enthusiast, I self-trained with the help of books, articles and TONS of practice so that I could take our company’s product photos.  Let me tell you… it took a lot of trial and error to take fantastic photos of our round, shiny packaging and cello-wrapped gift baskets, but I learned and kept improving my skills.

While I owned Bath-and-Body.com, I was contacted a number of times by professional photography studios offering their services, and every single time I asked them how much they charged, they started asking all kinds of questions to get a sense of our company’s revenue.  In other words, the indirect answer always felt like, “Well, let’s see.  How much you got?”

Long story short, I ended up deciding that I would open my own product photography studio with completely transparent pricing posted prominently on our website and that we would charge the same amount per photo regardless of the type of product we received.  Yes, that’s pretty much the standard now, but it was very innovative back in 2005.

Shortly after we opened, we became the photographers for a few major clothing labels, including Charlotte Russe circa 2006, and it was clear that the studio needed its own clothing photography division.  Enter ClothingPhotography.com!

I still carry my commitment to putting customers first and have pushed my employees to all do the same.  Of course it helps that I am every bit as in love with taking and editing photos as I was when we first opened.

The only other thing I really want to say here is that I strive to make all our clients want to come back to us again and again.  It must be working because most of our clients have been with us for years.

Again, thanks for visiting, and I hope to get a chance to work with you!

process

STEAMING & PREPPING

It should be no surprise that clothing that gets boxed and shipped to us gets wrinkled. Sometimes VERY wrinkled. That’s why the first thing we do when we receive your items is hang and steam everything

STYLING & LIGHTING

Styling clothing on a mannequin nicely requires experience, patience and a pinch of magic. While it would be hard to prove that we possess magic, we certainly have a tremendous amount of experience and patience.

POST-PRODUCTION

Once the images have been created, we edit them to remove the background and any flaws, wrinkles or other undesirable elements that appear in the photo. We also match each piece of clothing to the photos
